EmPoR - Applications and Potentials of RFID in the Logistics of small- and medium-sized Enterprises
The global competition forces particularly small and medium sized enterprises to constantly innovate and rationalise. A new and innovative approach is the use of the radio frequency identification technology (RFID) for the optimization of in-plant processes. The presented project contents on the one hand a study over the status Quo, the increase in value as well as existing obstacles with the application of RFID. Beyond that a catalogue of requirement for the successful application of the technology within the ranges of storage and production logistics is developed, which shall be used globally. This form of decision support is supplemented by an economy calculation, which does a comparison with existing ident systems (e.g. bar code).
