Autonomous Control of intralogistic processes within the clothing industry

This research project aims to develop reference solutions based the decentralized data management for intralogistic processes within the clothing industry, which include e. g. article stock receipt and despatch as well as article picking processes.
Applications or fields of deployment will be pointed out for decentralized data management to allow especially small and medium sized enterprises to increase the efficiency of their logistic processes. In particular the project will examine to what extent relevant product data can be stored directly on articles or packages of articles by use of the transponder or RFID technology. Suitable reference solutions for selected decentralized data processing applications in intralogistic processes will be implemented in a pilot application in order to exmanine present technical possibilities and limitations to decentralized data management. The potential logistic benefits that can be obtained by decentralized data management applications as well as the costs and risks will be simulated and evaluated using material flow simulation technology.
Thus the theoretical concepts of autonomous control are supplemented to the self-control of logistic objects by reference processes for direct application in enterprises.
In this way the project will supplement theoretical concepts of autonomous control of logistic processes and will contribute to implement first such concepts within a business environment especially of small and medium entreprises.
