Motivation

A necessity for autonomous logistic processes is the mobile communication. The optimisation of processes depends on the availability of the data relevant to decisions at the right place and at the right time. This subproject aims mainly at the application area transport logistics and especially at the information system and the interface between the execution system and the information system.

Results Phase 1 (2004-2007)

Basis of this work is an analysis of the elements in logistic networks and the communication relations between them. From this, transport scenarios were developed on which the communication of autonomous algorithms can be tested and compared.
A simulation environment for communication in transport networks based on the scenario descriptions has been implemented. The communication behaviour of some adaptive algorithms has been studied.
Research on mobile agents for aggregating data could show, that they are an appropriate method if the amount of reply data is high and aggregation is possible.
In order to ensure a high availability of e.g. sensor network data from transport processes, a communication gateway has been implemented, which shows the concept of autonomous communication network selection.
